Brendan J. Gardiner is Chief Litigation & Regulatory Counsel at Archer-Daniels-Midland Company, a global food processing and commodities trading company. Based in Chicago, Brendan leads a team of legal professionals advising on litigation and regulatory issues. In addition, he heads up ADM’s Insurance & Risk Management Group, with responsibility for ADM’s global insurance programs, captive insurance operations and claims handling.
Prior to joining ADM in January 2017, Brendan spent 11 years with Caterpillar in Illinois, California and Belgium, during which time he counseled the company on litigation, regulatory, commercial and compliance matters in the Americas, EMEA and Asia Pacific. Before moving in-house, Brendan practiced in the Chicago office of Sidley LLP, specializing in commercial and securities litigation and internal investigations.
Brendan earned his undergraduate and law degrees from the University of Notre Dame, and completed a clerkship with Judge Susan H. Black on the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals.
